RN104 added 6TB to a 4TB and its now raid1 how to make new volume with the 6TB drive
I was using an RN104 with a single 4tb drive till it run out of space. Now i bought a 6tb drive and forgot (or rather i didnt know) to switch to flexraid before inserting the new drive. As a result I now have a 4tb-6th raid 1 combo.
How do i seperate those volumes safely and add a diffrent volume to the nas that uses the 6tb drive?
You had a single disk JBOD, now it's a RAID1 on two drives. You can use tricks to make a new JBOD volume on the new drive, but you can't revert your RAID1 to a JBOD, at least from the GUI (decreasing the number of RAID devices in the volume). Search this forum, this has been discussed before.
Ful backup + recreating the volumes is the way to go (using the GUI anyway).

Once the RAID reshape started, you can't go back. I'm afraid you'll have to destroy the volume. This will wipe it, so you'll have to do a full backup first.

Wait why? Its raid1 theoretically when i take one drive i should be able to read it in any computer. So why cant i take the 6tb and make it a separate volume?
