RN104 adding new 4TB Dirve - is 40+ hours correct to Resync?
I am new to NAS and was firstly suprised that by adding 2 x 4Tb drives I was only able to access 3.6Tb in total and then when I added 2 more 4 TB drives only to find that while it accepted both drive...

Might be faster just to factory default it. Remember that one drive out of the 4 is used for redundancy so you only have capacity from 3 drives (and hard drive size reported by the manufacturer is 1GB = 1000 Megabytes, when computers see 1GB as 1024 Megabytes.
So you'll have something like 10.9TB's of storage space. You can use the device while resyncing, it's just slower, but it will do one drive at a time.

Previous users have reported ~24 hours to resync a 3 TB drive in the RN104, so ~32 hours for 4 TB is in the ballpark. The completion estimates are just that, and frequently are off. Note that all sectors (empty or used) need to be synced, so the amount of data in the array doesn't matter.
It will resync one drive at a time.
A factory reset would have been faster initially (though you would have lost the data). Since you are mid-flight now, its hard to say. I'd probably let it finish.
