Hi Spanfan,
You will still be able to use the NAS with the 3 drives in. Once you you have the new drive plug it in on bay 4 and the NAS should automatically rebuild the RAID.
Hopefully you can get a good backup of your data for protection.

Hi Spanfan
Welcome to the Community!
Are all your disks still showing on the Admin page? You may want to check on the disk status by hovering on them. There is a possibility that there were failing disk/s before you have proceeded with the update.
Kindly send in the logs so we can check :)

Hi marc,
Three of the discs are coloured blue the fourth is grey (slot 4x1)
Hovering over the grey one shows an ATA error 41160 all the blue ones have ATA error 0
Apart from that the data is the same for all drives
Thanks
Spanfan

Hi Spanfan
That answers the degraded status on your NAS. Grey means it's dead/inactive and it needs to be replaced to get this resolved.
You may want to check the disk by connecting to an enclosure and the PC in case the NAS isreporting it wrong. You can run disk check then to check if it has errors. However, with the current status it would be best to replace the failed disk
Also, if the disk is fine I would advise contacting Support since it may have to do with the SATA connection on that bay. the unit will need to be replace if this is the case.

I've removed the Grey Disk 4 and will test it later Even without that the status is still shown as Degraded. Is that correct?
