RN104 "retry startup"
I have the RN104 since a week or so. There are 4 drives installed, 2x3 TB and 2x1 TB in X-RAID. Today morning there was no IP address, altough in the evening everything was O.K. and the NAS wasn't powered down. I restarted the router first, then the RN104. After a while the test "Retry startup" appears. After a longer while "Fail to startup" appears for a short while and the "Retry startup" again. I tried with the Reset button a normal boot and an OS reinstall too, the result is the same. Any idea? I would be very sad to lose my appr. 1 TB of data....

- GezabaAspirantFunny... I powered off, removed the drives, powered on, and it said, that there is an error, beaouse no disks. Puted the drives back, powered on. The display says: "Retry startup." as before, the power LED flashes, as before, but on the PC I see all previously installed drives (sorry, shares..), I can read and write as well. Is this normal?
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserYou can't boot without disks, so that part is normal.
I suggest backing up your 1 TB of data, and contacting support (support.netgear.com). You are entitled to free phone/chat support, since you just purchased.
