Thanks for the reply. I've powered off/on and tried reinstalling the OS from the boot menu but still no good. I'll contact support now.

On seconds thoughts I won't contact support, as I bought it in December and the 90 day support period has expired. The support website won't even let me send them an email. I'd have to pay £85 for a year's phone support and the NAS was only £150 to start with!
I'll have to try installing the firmware via USB and hope for the best.

What about volume read-only mode. Does that work?

Hi,
I have the exact same problem, and I can't seem to find any references to help get it fixed.
I logged into the admin console on my RN104 for the first time in months this afternoon. It prompted me to install the latest firmware - and I thought "what the h3ll, why not?" and said yes. It then downloaded the firmware and tried to reboot. It's now stuck with a message "prepare_creds+2c".
There is no web interface at it's usual ip address.
Not sure where to go from here, any and all help appreciated.
