RN202 Unable to remove plex media server

Hi,

I'm unable to remove the plex media server.  It says it's uninstalled but i can't get rid of it.

Also my /dev/md0 partition is showing as full.  This is causing problems with the shares on my system not being started and they have vanished.

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev 10M 4.0K 10M 1% /dev
/dev/md0 3.7G 3.7G 0 100% /

Can you help here?

Regards,
_dmxit_

Is SSH enabled on the NAS (not sure if you can enable it now, with the full OS partition).

Are you comfortable (and have some experience) with the linux command line interface?

      Hi Stephen,

Since i posted this message, i found that plex get's installed in the /apps folder and with plex scanning and saving media metadata this caused the / partition to become full.

Since then i've cleaned up the crap in plex and managed to free up some space.

      /dev/md0 3.7G 2.5G 992M 73% /

Now even my shares are back now after rebooting the NAS.

So i'm really happy at this point.

Just wondering if just deleting the below plex folder will remove it from the ReadyNas apps installed view.

      root@Nas:/apps# ls -l
      total 0
      dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Dec 30 2015 DO_NOT_DELETE
      drwxr-xr-x 1 admin admin 246 Sep 2 21:34 plexmediaserver-annapurna

I'm comfortable using linux command line.

      Regards,

      _dmxit_

Note that /apps is actually a mount point for a folder in the data volume (/data/.apps) so removing files in /apps doesn't do anything to resolve a full root partition.

Plex has been known to put transcoding "chunk" files in the root, and that can of course lead to problems.

Still really full - normally it runs ~30%.  If you want to look more, then you should remount / to /mnt, and then examine /mnt.  /mnt won't include the mount points, which makes it much easier to analyze correctly.

        This command will do it:

        mount --bind / /mnt

when done, just navigate out of /mnt and then enter

        umount /mnt
