RN2120v2 - Channel 4 - No Power to disk

My RN2120v2 is running ReadyNAS OS 6.7.4 and I have 4 Samsung 1TB SSD 850 EVOs installed.  I pulled the disks after a powerdown and clear them (low level format).  Now it does not matter which SSD I place into the 4th channel, it will not get power to that disk.  I've booted in Tech Support mode and RAIDar is showing Debug code: 56478.  Any ideas?

  • The debug code is something you give to a Netgear tech so they can access your NAS remotely.  It does not give any information about the issue.  I don't think that publicly broadcasting the code is a good idea.

Did you do any cleaning out of the system?  Perhpas check if some debris got into the SATA connector for that slot.

You actually have no way of telling if it's a power or signal problem.  The drive won't spin up if it doesn't get a command to do so.

I have a SATA backplane from a 4-drive desktop system that has a similar problem, but I purchased it knowing that it had been dropped.  So, indiividual slots can go "bad", and there is no physical sign of the cause on that backplane of mine.

Thanks Sir!  I cleaned out the SATA coonector on channel 4 and "poof" everything is good on that channel now too!  I still am having an issue accessing the web management interface.  See my other post and thanks for the guidance!
