RN21400 (6.8.1) 100 MB/s upload 5MB/s download ?
Hello,
This is my first NAS setup, so I have basically no idea what Im doing ;)
Uploading files to NAS, about 100MB/s (as expected)
Downloading files from NAS, about 5MB/s (this can NOT be right, right?)
Firmware: 6.8.1
Setup: plain and simple JBOD (3 disks, 1 share per disk)
Network: [nas]-cat6-[GB switch]-cat6-[computer]
Upload to NAS: 100 MB/s
Download from NAS: 5MB/s
Antivirus/security software disable on both NAS and computer.
My GB/s switch has green lights across the board, indicating 1GB/s is negotiated and working.
CAT-6 on all connections.
Only SMB enabled (and HTTP/HTTPS, for admin gui I guess?)
Tested both ports on NAS, same result.
NAS HDD in use (read/write): WD RED 8TB (brand new)
2 other (rather crappy) disks also in NAS (not used atm).
No applications installed on NAS.
Client computer: Windows 10
...soo, any Ideas on what to start fiddling with?
So, I performed a reset on my switch (D-LINK DGS-1100-24)
...aaaaaand it would seem it did the trick, both upload and download now at 100+MB/s

That's annoying, a switch/router reboot not too convenient ;). Maybe it was a 'one off'...
Did you by chance try from a different PC too?

Yes, I tried from 2 different machines, same result for both.
(if issue comes back and can be resolved in same manner, the switch is going to the dump)
About a month since I reset the switch, 100% stable, no issues.
