RN316 Front Panel Buttons extremely sensitive - anyone else having trouble?
Hi all,
On my RN316 I'm having a lot of trouble with the front panel buttons. They are extremely sensitive, such that it's hard to press any single button. When I press one, usually at least one or two other button lights also light up. THat is, if I press "down", usually the "down" button lights up, but also about 80% of the time also the "left" and "OK" buttons also light up. The worst is trying to hit "OK", because sometimes ALL the other lights go off one after another and I'm never confident that I've selected the option that I actually want. It looks like an exploding flashing crystal. I have a few quesitons:
1) Does anyone else have this behavior, and if not, is this something I should RMA for or just live with?
2) I've tried "wiping" the front with a dry cloth and that seems to really help. but I can only do that when the unit is off without risking accidentally doing something harmful. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this?
3) I'm hoping someone at Netgear might be able to weigh in and tell me how these buttons really work. Are they physically pressed buttons or are they purely capacitive? Does a light indicate that the button has been pressed, or is it only possible to get a "button press" signal when the button is physically pressed?
As a final note, I brushed past the RN316 with my computer bag and happened to notice that the bag caused the lights to go all bonkers also (lights blinking like a christmas tree). Now I have to be very careful about accidental contact.
Thanks!

Thanks. Actually I'm in the middle of some other trouble that Netgear Engineering is handling and in the process they issued and RMA for this front panel button issue.
I will mark this as solved because definitely it's an issue...sometimes the buttons lock up and are unresponsive.
