rnd2000v2 (readynas duo v2) upgrade to os 6

Then you add in a frontview backup job that copies current to archive. Run that manually at the beginning of each month. Then delete "november" from "current" and make a new "December" folder there.

Now I've got confused.
I setup my permissions in a level of users.
I've 3 users in my home.
One for me, another to my wife and oder called administrator.
With this setup, administrator can write or delete any folder, but myself and my wife just can read/write/delete some of them.
I don't believe that is possible on windows because it's managed by ReadyNAS!

There are two different sets of permissions. One is "network permissions" and the other is "file permisisons". Network permissions apply to the entire share, and control which users have access to that share. File permissions apply to specific files. To access a file you need to have both sets of permissions.
You can make adjustments to file permissions in network shares from windows.. You do need appropriate permissions (both network and file) to the share and the subfolder the file is in.
The topic is confusing, and lots of users have trouble with it. There is guide for OS-6 here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29838 Unfortunately there is no similar guide for the v2 products.

My guess is that you'd prefer it if both you and your wife could read/write/delete everything. Is that correct?
256MB RAM is barely enough to run the OS let alone deal with actually using the box to store data on it. OS6 on the Duo v2 would run into the OOM condition very easily.
I will try your recomendation and see if it fits to my needs.

I thought that could change RAM, so OS 6 is to forget.
Your recomendations is the work around that I've at the moment, but I don't like.
It seems that I need to upgrade to a newer machine :-)
