Did you test the voltages under load? If not, the test is far from comprehensive. While there are two 12V load segments, they tend to be tied together at some point (though I have not tested that with the ReadyNAS supply). Your next best step is to try another supply. Rather than buying one that will fit internally, you can use a standard ATX supply (that perhaps you "borrow" from a PC) and plug it in externally. If that doesn't fix it, then it's something else. Without schematics, which Nethgear has never made available, further troubleshooting is mostly shots in the dark.

A power supply problem is certainl;y a possibility. The NAS will display "ReadyNAS" with just the 5V present. If the +12V isn't working, the CPU will have no power and the drives will not spin up. Power supply failure is the most common hardware issue with the older NASes as they get longer in the tooth. If you have a standard ATX supply, you can connect it externally just to see if that fixes it.
You can replace the supply with an SFX format supply. The orignal Seasonic has been discontinued by the manufacturer and, though some places still advertise it, I have found none that can actually deliver a new one. I have seen refurbs still available. In choosing a supply, make sure the currents for the various voltages are rated the same as on the original. I have seen others post here that they have used a supply with the fan not quite centered (which is what a lot have), but I've stuck with centered fans.
You will also need a 6" extender for the 24-pin connector on most, even the Seasonic. Some may not have enough of the 4-pin Molex connectors, so you'll have to move one from the old supply.. I generally move them all so they are the 90° ones and I can shorten the wires.
- tdatersNov 19, 2018AspirantI checked voltage to a few of the connections I can get to and found 5v, 12v and 3.5v
Could not get to all the pin on the MB connector.
I’ve tried different combinations of memory and move the disks around.
Still won’t reset.
Is it possible for power supply to look OK on some lines, but not all?
Thanks
Tim
