RNDU 6000 failing disk
hi
Got a readynas ultra 6 running 6.10.4 with 6 disks (4x 3TB + 2x 8TB)
That box is working fine but one of the disk is doing weird noise from time to time.
It does a « clac clac clac » repeatedly during few seconds.
This noise is typical of a dying disk. 2disks are brand (the weird noise was already here before I use them) new, others are quite old. I ran a smartctl -l error against each of them but it did not reveal any problem.
How can I find which one is not healthy ? I noticed some btrfs error in dmesg output but not sure if it is relevant and or it can create such symptoms
many thanks for help !

It should be replaced even if the smart stats look healthy.
One option is to get a USB adapter/dock and connect that to a PC. Then power down the NAS, and put one disk in the dock at a time. Use vendor tools (Seatools or WD's dashboard software) to exercise the disk.
