L3 support can clean that up fairly quickly. Don't delay, as this condition can totally lock up the NAS.
After it is resolved, there is a ReadyDLNA add-on that will put the DLNA database on the C drive (instead of the OS partition) which can help.
Thanks for the reply, but I really would like to be able to fix the problem myself and better: find the source of the problem in order to prevent it for happining ever again.
L3 told me that it was fixed, but appaently not :(
Do you have the link to the add-on you mentioned? It should be something with DLNA. Here is the L3 quote:

After login thay said everything was OK. That was on 2012-10-18 and now the problem is back
