RNR-4B Changed permissions on its own
Pic 1 shows how in the netgear portal, our shares have anonymous access … we did not set them up like this. This changed sometime in the last few weeks.
Pic 2 shows the folder owner changed to something that looks like unix user (maybe) but whatever it is, it is NOT the way they were setup before. Having this identity as the owner prevents us from setting back our permissions.
Pic 3 shows Windows permissions … again, a bunch of unix IDs that we do not use, and our groups/users are missing entirely.

If you select RESET on the left side of the menu above you will find that the ReadyNAS OS has given you the capability of doing exactly what you say you cannot do.
Note that file permissions can be changed via Windows security by anyone having full file access, so that could be what happened. Hopefully, not intentionally. But if you give Everyone full access, and especially if you allow it anonomously, then that's a risk you are taking, including possible intervention by malware.
