rsync : move deleted files instead of remove
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to have rsync move files that have been deleted on the source side to a "deleted" folder on the backup side ?
The idea is to keep a full backup as long as possible on the have a clear view of where clean-up is possible.
TIA,
Bart

- I don't think its possible with rsync itself, but have you tried enabling the recycle bin?
I don't know if that will work with rsync or not, but its worth a shot. - fop_netAspirantI have a same problem. i would like this solution to backup my files in my mac.
I would like move the candidate rsync deleted files to other folder, but the main workaround that i found is below. But i do not know how to automate this solution.
Run rsync without delete. Then run rsync with the -- delete and the -nv options.
It should produce a list of the files to be deleted. Save it and move those
