2TB of Data................are you kidding me, start all over from scratch, I don't think so, especially considering my PRO4 works fine, this is a 312 OS issue!
PLUS: did you read what I wrote about it having to be NTFS? A Rasp Pi cannot read EXT4 (actually perhaps it can but its not what I want in this case for other reasons)!
I hate to say it but your suggestions here are NOT a solution and only a workaround................however you did help me think about a solution:
Solution (that worked for me): You asked me earlier if I disconnected correctly. I did, however this doesn't mean the drive doesn't have any errors.
By connecting the USB drive to a PC and running a Windows ScanDisk, it found and fixed a single error relating to Free Space. I then reconnected it to the NAS and ran the Rsyn Backup again and ............it worked. Excellent
This chat helped, thanks mdgm, you got me thinking and as an IT Support person..............I like solutions over workarounds as it helps next time around :-).
