Rsync or relicate
Hi. I am going to make a backup between two ReadyNases (RN102 and RN214) over wan. I am a bit uncertain if I should use Rsync or replicate. What are the pros and cons of Rsync and replicate? ...

Replicate uses ReadyCloud VPN technology (Remote) to connect. Netgear doesn't provide enough information on Remote to compare its security to rsync over ssh. That said, rsync over ssh should be quite secure.
Replicate is easier to set up. Rsync over ssh doesn't depend on cloud services.

Replicate uses rsync. It creates a VPN between both units and use that for the rsync job.
If you want to have full control of the job, use rsync and do it yourself. If you want to be able to set it up in a few clicks, use replicate ;)
