Setting up a VPN for RSync
Hi,
If I set up a router to router VPN using Netgear's DGN2200 how do I tell Rsync to use the secure VPN ports rather than trying to connect to the other READYNAS through an unsecure port?
Is it a matter of using the internal IP address of the backup router as the destination?
I don't want to spend more money and still not get the security issue sorted!
Thanks.

- identravelerAspirantyes - i do the same thing with 2 FVS318g's :) it is that simple :)
are u doing a LAN to LAN VPN tunnel? if yes - then yes - u would set your rsync to point to the other readyNAS's LAN address (on the far side of the VPN)
Does that answer your question? - newbuilderAspirantHi identraveler.
Thanks for the response. I went and bought the gtwo routers and have posted one to my parents today. Fingers crossed on Monday it is a plug and play. I have configured everything before posting it.
One thought though. Did you have to open any ports on the routers with it being a VPN?
