Shrink/Reduce disk space in LUN
Hi All,
Thanks for looking into this post.
Recently I have upgrade my ReadyNAS by adding two new 2 X 2TB. ReadyNAS volume expansion is completed.
I have checked that my ReadyNAS firmware supports LUN with more then 2TB of space. So I expanded my LUN 0 to 5.5TB. In Windows 2008 disk management, the LUN disk showed the new free space but I was unable to expand the current partition. I found out that my current disk is partitioned with MBR.
Is there anyway to shrink the disk space in the LUN 0 without destroying the data inside?
Thank you.

- ReadySECUREApprenticeThe best suggestion that I can provide at this time would be to backup the information through an initiated connection, then remove the LUN and recreate.
The best practice with the iSCSI LUNs is to use only the amount necessary, plus a little grow room, until you need to expand further. This is due to the fact that you can expand, but not shrink, the LUNs on the ReadyNAS.
