Thanks for the reply.
I get around 200 - 350 kbs getting files from the nas remotely
The Nas box has now decided to not allow any FTP or HTTP access!
Can still see the files (120GB) so am copying the files to an external device and I have decided to Factory reset the NAs!
It had originally been setup by a third party IT company who had not told the client any passwords nor setup recovery feature on the nas so the unit had been subjected to a soft reset to reset the password. Once this had been done a firmware update was processed and all looked well until the ftp test.
They had never before used the FTP service on the nas and it was a new thing for them.
I will factory reset the NAS on Monday morning, reset it up and retest the ftp speeds and will post back on whether it is any better, I will also take in another identical NAS unit that I know works fine upload/download via FTP and test that just to see if it is a ReadyNAs issue.
Hopefully the factory reset will get thing working properly.
Will post back Monday evening GMT :)
