Stephen,
FTP file transfers speed outside the lan using Filezilla are good qround 200-300k both ways.
Internally speeds are what I would expect them to be for FTP and filezilla so I am going to look at the router which is a Netgear N150.
I will take my nas box and hook it up and retest ftp from a remote site and if it works ok then it is there Nas box and if it has the same speeds as there nas box it must be the router.
If my Nas box works ok then I will flatten there Nas back to factory default and reset it up and retest, If it still has issues then I will call Netgear as the unit will have a fault. If my Nas box does the same then I will look at the Router and possibly the 8 port gigabit switch it is plugged into.
Strange one and looking around a few people have had similar issues pointing to routers maybe?
Feel free for any other suggestions before Monday and advice would be great.
Going to enjoy the weekend and have fun on Monday.
