Smart Retention Management on ReadyDR Share
I have a few ReadyNAS 4312 machines that I am looking to use the ReadyDR functionality on. One question I had was how the ReadyDR Retention settings interact with the Snapshot Management settings of a share? For example, assume I have a share called "Test123" on NAS-1 that I set up with Custom snapshots to take a snapshot every hour during work hours and to keep those snapshots for two weeks. I also have a ReadyDR Share on NAS-2 called "SnapshotTest123" and a ReadyDR job which sends all snapshots from Test123 to SnapshotTest123. In the SnapshotTest123 Retention settings, I can leave the Retention Management set to Custom and manually configure it, or I can set it to Smart, but I have no idea what this actually does.
Does it only work if both the share and the ReadyDR share are set to Smart settings? I couldn't find anything in the manual about what Smart Retention Management does, just what Smart Snapshot settings do.

I have not check on this and I'm not sure if it's enabled by default on the Destination folder but
ReadyDR job allows you to configure a Smart Snapshot schedule on the source share unless you have set a custom snapshot schedule on the source share then ReadyDR will be using that setting instead.
Depending on the set schedule on your ReadyDR Job, Smart Retention management will follow the same settings with Snapshot Management on the Destination Folder which is
• Hourly snapshots are kept for 48 hours.
• Daily snapshots are kept for four weeks.
• Weekly snapshots are kept for eight weeks.
• Monthly snapshots are kept for as long as there is sufficient capacity. (The last weekly snapshot in a month becomes the monthly snapshot for that month.)
Though ReadyDR Job only sets Hourly, Daily and Weekly
