SMB 3.02 support?
I'd like to use my ReadyNas Pro Business (RAIDiator 4.2.26) for SMB 3.02 shared storage with Hyper-V. Is this possible? Will SMB 3.02 ever be supported? Is there an Add-on that will enable support?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired4.2.27 (currently in beta) will have samba 3.6.x which has limited SMB2 support,
The latest samba doesn't have the necessary SMB support for shared storage with Hyper-V
The current 6.2.0 beta (not supported on your Pro Business, but can upgrade to it - note this requires a factory default) has samba 4.1.x. - jottAspirantHello mdgm and thanks for the speedy response. So I guess this is more about Samba than it is ReadyNas. From what I've read: "SMB 3.0 support in Samba 4.0 is fairly rudimentary at this point, but the team is working hard to enhance and expand it." http://blog.fosketts.net/2012/12/12/samba-40-released-active-directory-smb-support/
Even so, that raises other questions...
As I understand it, the RAIDiator OS is like a device-specific Linux distro. Assuming Netgear is still releasing updates for my device (RNDP6000-100NAS - now 6 years old) is it reasonable to assume that newer versions of Samba will eventually find their way into RAIDiator? Are there hardware limitations that will prevent inclusion of newer versions of Samba in my device's OS? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWe added samba 3.6 to 4.2.27 to address some security issues. It's possible we might move to a newer version of samba at some point, however any updates would be done to address bugs or security issues. If new features in newer samba versions are able to be used that is a bonus, but not the reason for doing the updates.
