Only SMB and DLNA, but I have considered switching to NFS to see if it resolves the issue. That said, SMB is supposed to be the preferred protocol for OS X now, so I would prefer to figure out what's going on.

Thanks. I don't actually have AFP enabled in my environment, though. No one else has this issue? I'm not even sure if there are useful logs I should be checking to troubleshoot.

Is the Mac going to sleep?
Which services are you running on the NAS?
Also do you have any apps installed?
