[SOLVED] How to purge deleted shares? #23972766

Hello,

In the process of integrating in my office network a new RN 102 I found expedient to create on the RN 102 three shares to where I could copy data to move it from a RN NV+ to a RN Duo. The copy of data went smoothly, but then I noticed the following:

I deleted the three shares on the 102 directly from the Shares pane (without deleting the folders and files first) and noticed that the reported disk usage didn't decrease. I didn't give it much thought as I expected it would take a while, or a reboot maybe, for all the data to be actually deleted from disk, or maybe it could be a glitch of the web interface

later, while running a backup of the entire volume of the RN 102 to the RN NV+ I noticed that three hidden folders had been created in the backup share on the RV+: ._share, .apps and .purge. I then noticed that the .purge folder contained all the the shares that I had previously created and deleted on the RN 102, with all the folders and files inside

As I find more expedient to run a single backup job to backup all of the shares on the RN 102 to a single share on the RN NV+, is there a way to force the removal of all the content in the .purge folder? that would let me reclaim approx. 300 GB of free space on the RN 102 and cut down the time needed to backup the data from the RN 102 to the RN NV+.

The RN 102 is running RAIDiator 6.1.9, the RN NV+ is running RAIDiator 4.1.8 and the RN Duo is running RAIDiator 4.1.13.

Update: the issue has been solved by Netgear support by remotely accessing the NAS and deleting the folders contained in the .purge folder.
