Speed dealing with Folder with thousands of subfolders
So this is super general, but I have a ReadyNAS Duo 2150, the old one, and it's main use is serving music to my Macbook Air. It's painfully slow when say, playing one song and then doing anything else...
It would be helpful to rule out WiFi. Do you have an ethernet USB adapter for the Macbook?
Also are you accessing the NAS using AFP? or SMB/CIFS?
