There are some benefits to using SSDs with the 300 series, but obviously bigger benefits to using them with a NAS with 10G such as the RN526X or RN626X.

I was surprissed by the sector count issue -- good to know so the devices can be deployed initially and older devices can be reinitialized..
Our sites are smallish by most standards but sprinkled across the nation. The larger units are too large for our use.
Additionally we will be re-deploying the current NAS units to serve as FTP servers for our cameras. They will be located in a different internal location than the business focused NAS units to capture and save possible security concerns.
My concern now is internal hacks by bad actors that have physical access to our networks. My proposal for multiple logon lockout counts would certainly help here.

The general rule is for XRAID is that disk replacements must be either
(a) the same size as the drive you are taking out, or
(b) at least as large as the largest drive in the system.
