SSD for NAS
Has anyone attempted to use SSD drives in their NAS? I'm assumning its possible but most likely not? I'd love to see the performance numbers if someone managed to get it working. Unfortunatley, the...

They won't get you a lot of performance improvement, the rest of the hardware will still be a bottleneck. The systems don't even max out the current 7200RPM disks as it is.
Good points on the maintenance scripts as that never crossed my mine. I've installed SSD drives in two 5 year old PCs and still saw good improvements in performance. Neither of the PCs supported Sata III so I would expect similar results but I could be wrong.
