Streaming to iPad 2 - what are the options?
Just got my iPad 2, what apps do peope use on the iPad to connect to a ReadyNas to view video - I have an NVX.
That depends on whether you are willing to jailbreak (once the iPad2 jailbreak is out there, of course). If you are, then XBMC would be my personal favourite. It can map SMB shares, and then browse the ReadyNAS. It's also the only application (on the original iPad, as least) which is optimised enough to be able to playback 1080p MKVs without stuttering (it scales them appropriately).
If you want a non-jailbreak solution, then I can recommend BUZZ Player HD. This can mount SMB shares, but also understands DLNA servers. It's not quite as optimised, but it does a good job on most files.
