Thanks MDGM for the feed back, Obviously when I first started up the amount of transfer to the NAS was large, I think there is almost 6TB of data on the device now. So, you see my set up and what I have in my settings, do you see anything irregular? I guess I'm just going to have to keep looking and try to see if there is any rhym or reason why it is happening .... but with my last NAS there was almost no drop outs over years of use... and with this one it is getting just a bit frustraiting.
I appreciate you taking the time to look over my logs.

no need to have DLNA enabled for wd tv live

So, CPU8088, are you suggesting that I turn off DNLA on my ReadyNas? Perhpas you can help me understand why I don't need it?
Would I turn it off in Settings? Or Would I eliminate it in the Shares? By turning off DNLA what's the downside... what kind of problem could that cause.
In the WD why is the Ready NAS showing up under Media Server and Not under Windows Shares? The units is working with the occational drop out while streaming. It seems to stream the files fine and the WD seems to accept about any format to play...
This is obviously a new item for me and I don't quite know all the ins and outs yet but, I"m slowly catching on... Thanks for your willingness to help me understand this better.

The NAS media shares should show up as windows shares in the WD Live - I don't recall if the WD Live has a workgroup setting or not, but if it does then set it to the same workgroup as the NAS.

Good Evening StephenB. The WD live is on the same Workgroup as all my other device. On The WD, If I go to Window Shares the Neatgear Nas Drive does not show up at all. I have to go to "Media Servers" and then I can see the Netgear NAS... I think click on that and my shares on the drive show up fine (that isn't a big deal unless that means the Media server chages the encoding, but I don''t think so).
In an earlier post, someone said turn of DNLA on the Sharres on the NAS, but then another post says to have it on.
It just seems intermittent, I can be watching a move for an hour and no issues at all until it drops out.. I have to go back in and resume the movie.. then after that I can watch 2 more movies in a row and never have it happen again.. it is kind of crazy.I havent really complained because it is infrequent.. but it would be nice to get it squared away at some point where it does not do that.
I am out until next wednsday so I can change anything until we get home, but any suggestions would be appreciated...

DLNA is being used when you use the "media servers" path. You shouldn't need to disable to see the "windows share" path.
My WD Live isn't the newest version, and isn't in active use at the moment. If I have a chance I'll fire it up and see if it sees my RN202.

Hi I just bought a ReadNAS 204 in addition to Netgear STORA. I want to stream DVD to WD live from the new Ready NAS, as I already do from STORA.
Unfortunately my WD Live, cannot see the ReadyNAS under Windows Network Sharing. Same as Davidk1952. StephenB have you verified?
I am quite confused since everything has always worked fine with the old STORA.
Any suggestion?

Hi, just solved. ReadNAS, during installation got a Workgroup name different from the one of the WD and PC. I changed and it works.

It has been a couple of weeks since I have posted my update so, here we go. My conintued problem of the stream droping out from my RN204 to the WD Live media center seems to have been fixed. I moved my NAS and plugged it directly to the back of my Netgear 7500 router. I have my Router hooked up to my WD thru 2 ea switches... I have played many HD movies with high action and the NAS and the WD just keeps chugging along with out the drop out. And I'm good with that.
I have yet to have my NAS show up on my windows shares side of the WD but it is shoing up under Media Server and it works fine. So I am thinking I"ll just have to live wth that. I contacted Netgear and they told me point plank it would be shown up under the Media Server... I guess you can direct map it but it isn't that important I can work with it right now as it is.. If anyone runs across a different way of doing it please post it but right now I"m watching my shows off the NAS just fine and no drop outs so I guess you can say I'm happy!
