Support will need to do some diagnostic work with you, but if they decide its a chassis problem you won't have to send the disks in.
The best way to do it will be to request an advance RMA ( you will get a chassis sent you then you have fixed period of time to arrange return of the faulty unit - the return courier cost is covered by Netgear)). This costs a little but means you can migrate your disks and test the new unit.
