Sudden plague of .AppleDouble files !

Thanks, but any reason why I'm suddenly seeing them ? Are they not written by the NAS after all , but being written by OSX ?
I looked at the link you provided but there was no permanent method listed. .DS files I can get rid of but .Appledouble seem to be repetitive.
Trouble is I'm using a WIn7 mirror programme on the NAS shares so it doesn't like keeping track of this Apple dust between the mirrors.
