Sudden plague of .AppleDouble files !

OK. I've narrowed it down a bit.
In WIn7 I can't see this apple dust.
However, in the Win7 mirror programme I can see these. Changing the view filters to exclude hidden or system files doesn't change this.
Why might this programme suddenly see these files ? MIght the change to Raidiator 4.2.23 have done this ? Would going back to 4.2.22 fix it ?
I'll post questions on the WIn7 S/W forum - it's ViceVersa.
