This fix worked for me.
Updated to RAIDiator 4.1.13 [RC1]. Did a hard (power-off) restart.
Time machine now works with both my new 10.9 Mavericks machine and my old 10.6.8 snow leopard one. (Well, will backup at least. I haven't tried restoring anything yet.)
