Thanks. It wasn;t the password which I got wrong but the username as per my previous post.
Anyway, I booted into Mavericks on my other partition and using the correct credentials, managed to connect to Time Machine but stopped it from backing up as it's not the drive I will be using but I will install Mavericks on my main drive now as it appears to be compatible.
Bonjour Browser saw a number of ReadyNAS related items and two under AFP.
