My first Time Machine backup since installing Mavericks is underway and it is understandably pretty hefty (18.68GB).
However, the odd thing is that although it says that the backup is taking place under the menu bar icon, the Time Machine volume has not been mounted. Is this normal behaviour with the new versions of everything? I have Connected Servers selected in my Finder preferences so it ought to appear on the desktop as usual.
