thunderluc, did your backup actually complete after deleting the sparsebundle? I tried that. It appeared to be backing up at first, but then ... "Waiting to Complete First Backup". :(
I did notice that my older mac, which was successfully backing up at first, is now also failing to complete its TM backups. This makes me suspect the problem is on the server side. Hopefully I'll have some time to troubleshoot it tonight.
