Hi Skywalker - thanks for your reply and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I clicked on your link and yes there are 3 entries in Finder:
AFP on nas xx-xx-xx
nas xx-xx-xx
nas xx-xx-xx (CIFS)
As mentioned I have tried the other "fixes" that understood from this thread but nada. Any pointers from the above?
