Timemachine, Lion and Filevault
I have installed the latest firmware and the Timemachine backup to my ReadyNAS NVX is working just fine.
I now want to encrypt my Disk using the new Filevault feature but continue to do Timemachine backups "normally" to my NVX.
However, this does not seem to work. The backup aborts. Is there any instruction as to how to get this to work with filefault?
Many thanks

- sphardy1ApprenticeThe new FileVault feature encrypts the entire hard drive of your mac - as such, once unlocked, it is effectively transparent to all applications including TimeMachine. Therefore it is doubtful that FileVault is specifically causing your issues.
That said, double check that the file vault encryption is complete before using TM again as I've seen the encryption process does appear to slow TM down significantly and so may cause short term issues - bbripAspirantIt might well have been that Filevault hadn't completed yet. I've just tried again and all is fine.
Many thanks for the quick feedback
