Timemachine not seeing ReadyNAS

I'm missing something here. Just upgraded my 6350 to (3) 4TB drives, no prob. Upgraded firmware to v 6.9.3.

Backed up my iMac with no problem.

Now trying to backup my daughter's macbookPro to it as well but her computer does not see the NAS in timemachine.

If I go to Finder, it sees it and accesses it. But it doesn't see it in Timemachine to schedule auto backups.

What am I missing here?

I can log in to the NAS just fine through the admin page and it sees it. Just timemachine on the laptop doesn't see it.

    Hi TonyR59

If you have setup Shared Time machine you should be able to see it on the list when enabling Time Machine on your daughter's Macbook. However, If it's a private Time Machine you will have to create a local user account for your daughter and setup a Private Time Machine for her.

Using the Finder on the Macbook Pro which is locating and accessing the NAS shares might be different from listing it from Time Machine backups. Have you tried rebooting the NAS? setting up new Shared Time Machine backup? Note that if you removed Time Machine the backup will be removed as well.

    Private Time Machine

    Shared Time Machine

    Hope this helps!

    Regards

Thank you for all the help! I haven't had the time to try your last suggestion regarding the private v.s. shared backup but I'm pretty sure I went through all of that already. I've got both set up according to the way I see it. I'm afraid if I delete the private ones, it may delete the backup on my readynas.

But I will venture back into this this weekend and see what I can figure out!
