Trouble with panasonic dmr-bwt800gl

Hi all,
I am running a pro with raidiator 4.2.21 and dlna update 1.0.25 and for some reason my panasonic bluray burner pvr will not play the avi or divx files. It plays vts (dvd), mp3 and jpegs no problems but it just wont stream other video content.
My nas streams fine to a ps3 and sony bluray player.
Panasonics line was that the nas isnt converting to be dlna compliant prior to sending and that it doesnt get decoded in the dmr bwt800gl anyhow. They suggested i use twonky but i dont want to pay for a license if i dont have to and i am happy with the streaming to my other devices too.
Does anyone have any ideas for me?
PS im not very linux or ssh literate so go easy.

Thanks Michael.

  • To further this i am assuming it is a problem with the panasonic dlna client and that readydlna doesnt transcode.
is there a media server add on that will work other than twonky? will plex work?
I have read on a few forums like avs, dtv, whirlpool etc. that the panasonic dlna can be problematic. i have seen some people using serviio to overcome this with specific profile code fixes (above me)
If i play an avi file on my sony br player tomorrow then try and play the same file on the panasonic will the NAS show any errors in a log for comparrison?
