TrueCrypt container
Hi I currently store a few TrueCrypt containers on my ReadyNAS 316. I use TryCrypt to mount these containers when i wish to copy/paste additional files into the container. This has always worked f...

I have a new local build of the SMB Plus app that adds an option for this setting. Get it from here, and install from the Apps tab, using the Upload button. Then launch the SMB Plus app, go to the Write Options tab, and disable Strict Sync.
We plan to make this a per-share option in a future firmware release.

Hi Skywalker
Is there an easy way to do this? I'm not great at following how to change this setting.

Great! That'll give mne the best of both worlds. I can disable it for my backups share and enable it everywhere else. I'm still going to see if the IDRIX folks can do something about it in VeraCrypt..

Unfortunetely this does not work for me. I installed the SMB Plus app and ensured the Strict Sync was disabled (it was already set to disabled before i checked). Then i reset the NAS.
However, the original problem has not changed. Is there something that i could be missing? - SkywalkerDec 08, 2017NETGEAR Expert
It doesn't make sense that Strict Sync would have already been set to disabled, unless you ran the command I posted earlier from a terminal. Maybe there's some strange browser issue with the SMB Plus app? In any case, I can take a look to confirm that the proper setting is in place if you enable Secure Diagnostic Mode and PM me the 5-digit number.

Hi SkyWalker
I did a little more checking. It appears that the problem only persists for TrueCrypt 7.1a containers. VeryCrypt containers seem to work ok. I don't know if this makes sense but its probably good enough for me since i can simply make VeryCrypt containers and move everything there.

Actually, spoke too soon. I was looking at the wrnog thing. Looks like the problem persists for all containers. SkyWalker ive PM'd you the 5 didgit code as suggested.

The strict sync setting looks good, but I see you've got the max protocol set to SMB1. SMB3 is much more efficient. Can you switch to that and then try some SMB transfers? I can monitor the system operations during the transfer to see where the bottleneck is.
