If EnableRootSSH is installed SSH access should continue to work fine unless there is a big problem such as the OS partition getting full.
If the OS partition is full you would get that error when you attempt to install add-ons. You don't need to forward ports. Also if support wanted SSH access to your box they should be asking you to install a different add-on.
The only way for support to fix a problem like this would be via tech support mode and as mentioned they don't need your I.P. address or login credentials from you from this. If you give them the five digit ID from RAIDar they can get into your system.
