Unable to contact SMTP Host ReadyNas NV
Starting to get really frustrated that I can't get SMTP working on my ReadyNAS NV. It was working earlier this year and then just stopped. I am using a gmail account and like I said, it was working fine with the settings I'm trying to enter now.
Here is what I've tried:
1) Removed the "App" from gmail App Passwords and created a new "App Password" to use Gmail's 2 part verification. I did this several months ago and this is how I got it working before. No workie.
2) Setup a new gmail account WITHOUT 2-part authorization and with the "Less Secure Apps" setting to ON. No workie.
3) Tried using my yahoo email account. No workie.
4) Tried using my email login info from my private domain account. I contacted my email provider and they said that it should work.
Is anyone currently using their Gmail account to send alerts on a ReadyNas product?
I was (still am?) concerned that I wasn't connected to the internet, but I was able to have the box check for updates and it says the OS is up to date (4.1.14). Does that confirm that I have internet connectivity?
It's one of 2 things: Something is screwy with the ReadyNAS SMTP functionality or my box is having issues connecting to the internet.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
Jay
There are some TLS security patches in 4.1.15-T3, so perhaps gmail isn't accepting your TLS connection because it is seeing vulnerabilities. So maybe try the T3 beta (you can downgrade with no problems).
Are you using a static IP address in the NAS?

Thank you Stephen for your quick reply. That is PRECISELY how I have it set up as well, so that leads me to think it is an internet connectivity issue or something with 4.1.14? Any thoughts as to what might be causing my problem?
TIA.
