Unable to Login to ReadyNAS Admin (RN314)
When trying to access my ReadyNAS from the admin console (http://[localip]/admin) it continually brings the password prompt back up (even though this password has been the same for years). I've trie...

I did the OS Reinstall...however now it shows I have no volumes. It shows I have 10.90 TB of data and 0 free space (there are four 4TB drives on this NAS).
In the system messages at the top it now states "Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1, 2, 3, 4"
Did I lose everything? Or if I select "New Volume" will I be able to see my file structures again?
Thank you for your assistance.

After a reboot of the server (via the admin console) it looks like my drive in Bay 4 has died (I'm now operating in a degraded state). So it looks like I'll be shopping for a new drive ASAP. Trying to get my shares set back up so I can access my files via mapped drives that I had previously setup.
Thank you very much for your assistance with this.

It sounds like you are still seeing the inactive volume (in addition to the failed drive).
Replacing the failed disk won't fix the inactive volume problem. The best way to resolve that is to use paid Netgear support (via my.netgear.com).
- SDCrooksDec 11, 2020AspirantActually the inactive volume message has gone away. The server is in a degraded state because the disk in Bay 4 has died. I think I have a couple spares that are also 4TB in size.
Does the server need to be powered off to swap out the drive safely?- SandsharkDec 11, 2020Sensei
Actually, it's best to do a hot swap. That way, the NAS recognizes the removal and insertion as they happen instead of trying to figure it out at boot.
