Unable to reinstall OS - instructions doesn't work
I'm very confused. The label under my device says ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 v2. I find the manual for Duo v2 - but the back of my device looks nothing like the image they say is the back of a Duo v2. My b...

The labeling is confusing, and you have a v1. See http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how-to-tell-whether-i-have-a-duo-v1-or-duo-v2-or-nv-v1-or-nv-v2/

Can you access your data?
Do you have a backup?

Ok, then we have established that I have a V1, even though Netgear website itself identified the serial number as v2...
The NAS works fine, I just need to reset the password so that I can access the web interface. As mentioned, holding the reset button until the LEDs blink doesn't appear to do anything. If it actually does reinstall the OS, it doesn't reset the password. When i visit http://ip/passsword_recovery/ I'm shown the previous password hint.
Is it possible to remove the disk and do a factory reset? I don't want to lose the data on the drives.
