Unable to use ReadyNAS 6.10.4 TimeMachine with new M1 iMac MacOS 11.1 (Big Sur)

We are/were using two NetGear ReadNAS (314 & 424) as Time Capsules with all our Intel Apple computers.  We just replaced two of our Apple computers with Apple M1 equivalents: the new computers are one M1 24" iMac and one M1 MacBook Pro.  Both came with macOS Big Sur.  Two other Apple computers (Intel 27" iMac and 2015 13" MacBook Pro) were upgraded to Big Sur.  The two Intel Apple computers using macOS Big Sur continue to backup through Time Machine using the ReadyNAS's.  The two M1 Apple computers return the message "The selected network backup disk does not support the required capabilities".  There are posts by others reporting having problems with Big Sur and ReadyNAS.  When will Netgear fix this issue?
