Update firmware on RN314 from version 6.0.8
Have an older RN314 which has been in service for about 4 years now. Firmware is 6.0.8. The unit is mission critical on a daily basis, so I want to avoid issues in upgrading the firmware. I'm gues...
Trying to back up the settings before I upgrade to the first step on the firmware. It's been running almost an hour with no indication of progress. Backup and activity lights are green. In the software screen for settings I selected everything. There's a spinning cursor next to where it says backup.
I realize it's going to pull up to 50 mb but how long should this take? Is there maybe an issue with the routine in this older firmwaree?

It should only take a couple of seconds. Did you try a different web browser?
Have tried 4 different browsers and even turned off the AV on the laptop. Chrome seems to come closest to working. As soon as I click to download the file it opens a second tab that says dbbroker and loading. After a few minutes it will give a gateway timeout in that tab. The gateway referenced is the nas ip port 443. I have it behind a router but not on the internet. The only two devices on the lan are the nas and my laptop to access the unit.
Try selecting "custom" and then select all the options. That will skip the "up to 50 megabytes" download of user data, but will give you the full config.
Tried that early on. Even without the volumes option it fails as last explained. Getting really frustrated with this. Even simple things like making a backup of the settings before I upgrade firmware have been so far impossible. Couldn't get a data backup to work either. Had to copy the files and shares off for backup manually.
