Upgrade ReadyNAS 314 to RN524X
Hello,
Could let me know below procedure is correct or not if want to seamless upgrade the current ReadyNAS 314(4x2T) in RAID 5 to RN524X, and does all existing NAS setting, Accounts users, Password, Data keep...etc will remain no change?
1. update the firmware of RN524X.
2. power off N314
3. move the existing 4x2T harddisks to new RN524X in sequence.
4. connect the RN524X to current switch
5. power up RN524X.
Then, the RN524X will detect and use back all existing setting automatically, all current users can access to the new RN524X when login their existing password in no change.
Please advise if any step is not correct.
Thanks
Hi FelixLee
Welcome to the Community!
You got it correctly, both units are from OS 6 firmware so migrating the disks is easy.
