- Oct 25, 2018Netgear tech support sorted it out for me. They were very helpful. I just put the NAS into tech support mode and they fixed it! Working fine ever since.

In your case it was the way the disk was pre-formatted that was the problem. If it is the same cause (it may not be) in this case then removing the disk and zero’ing the disk using a PC or if you know how telnetting into the device and doing it using that would be how to resolve this.
Note that zero’ing the disk would destroy all data on it.

I am currently trying the zero disk method.
Since the NAS was out of service for 2 year i dont not know if it was working previously.
